Whether afloat or ashore nothing, whether in this Notice of Race or in the Sailing Instructions or anywhere else, reduces this responsibility. 8.2 The helmsman shall decide whether the boat and the crew are fit for the prevailing or likely conditions. By launching and setting out to race, the helm confirms that the boat and crew are fit and competent and have the relevant experience to sail in those conditions. 8.3 Nothing done by the organisers can reduce the responsibility of each helm / crew, nor will it make the organisers responsible for any loss, damage, death or personal injury, however it may have occurred, as a result of the boat taking part in the racing. The ‘organisers’ includes everyone helping to run the races and the event and includes the Organising Authority, the Race Committee, the Race Officer, patrol boats and beach masters. 8.4 The provision of patrol boats does not relieve the helmsman / crew of their responsibilities.
